Why did my English Bull Terrier collapse today?

She is almost 5, and is, at least I thought, in good general health. Three days ago she developed a cough. Initially I thought she might have swallowed a foreign object as she has a habit of chewing and tearing her rubber toys into small pieces and also running, quite literally, through the conifer trees in our garden most afternoons while trying to get the attention of our neighbours dog. However, soon after I had made the call, she collapsed in the garden and, though conscious, she was unable to get up from her side. I took her immediately to the vet's. She has been there all day and so far they have said it is either "kennel cough" or an "enlarged heart". I'm not satisfied with either explanation. Firstly, she has not been near any other dogs, other than our neighbours dog, which spends most days on the other side of our garden fence, so I'm not convinced that kennel cough is likely. Secondly, she is a fit and healthy, and fairly young, terrier, so I'm not convinced she would suddenly develop an enlarged heart without my noticing. She has not had any change in her appetite or energy levels. I'm 19, female. I grew up in a house for half of my life that was full of domestic violence and such until my father was kicked out. Everything you are thinking and feeling is perfectly natural and not uncommon. I would suggest speaking to your tutor in uni (do you have a personal tutor?) or one of the lecturers about how you feel. Maybe they can give you some suggestions about what you can do to help your grades or speak to you about whether you should continue. When it comes to your parents, I was in a similar situation when I trained as a teacher. I took 4 years to train (which they funded) then decided after a year I wanted to quit. I talked to mum about it and she was fine, she just wanted me to be happy in life. Don't feel like you're going to be a burden if you talk to your parents or girlfriend. I don't know your situation but I can imagine that they just want you to be happy. Try talking to them, it might help.

I can feel my lymph nodes....?

About a year and a half ago I was at a horse show and my horse took a jump very weird and it made my body do something weird in the air. My neck started feel super stiff all the time after that and I was always rubbing it. I felt two little lumps in my neck which I knew was lymph nodes(they could have been there before this I would not have noticed). I went to the doctor who said she could not even feel them but I could feel them easily so could not understand why she could not. Just to make me feel better she sent me for a CAT scan which came back that my lymph nodes were a little enlarged but still within normal size. About 6 months later I had blood work done for a different surgery and the doctore orded every type of blood work you can have done, everything came back normal. The lymph nodes are less then 1cm and are very soft and I can only feel them if I press into my neck a little. They do puff up a little if I play with them but always go back down. They have been there for at the least over a year and a half and they have not changed at all. From what the doctors have said and what I have researched I should not be worried but it is still in the back of my mind sometimes. Should I be worried? Does anyone else have lymph nodes they can feel?

Why did my period start off like this?(Girls only please)?

This morning I noticed that when I wiped there was light pink discharge. I usually start off with brown discharge and blood. Why is this? I also usually have slight cramps before I start. I don't really get cramps during my period, only when I get it and when it's ending. I have been taking medication for my acne and acne scars. I'm not sure what it is though. My mom didn't tell me she just said to take it everyday for my acne. My doctor prescribed it to me. Magnesium Citrate didn't work?

Lymph Node that changes in size?

I have a lymph node that has been "acting up" for nearly a year. It started with an ear infection last August to be exact. Ever since it swells off and on. When it's really swollen it hurts and usually coincides with ear ache, sore throat and sometimes general sinus symptoms. I am just wondering if this is a sign of lymphoma? I would assume that with cancer it would probably remain enlarged all the time or continue to get bigger. I've also read that lymphomas usually involve more than one lymph node. Any help or insight is greatly appreciated.

I was told that I have low platelets when I was 16. I am now 28. About 5 years ago when I had my 1st child, I was diagnosed with ITP. My platelets run 70-100,000. I have had tons and tons of CBC's done. Everything is normal except my platelets. About 7 months ago I found out I had some enlarged lymphnodes in my neck. They are around 1.5 cm. I was told they are big enough to be concerned about but it would do more harm if they biopsied them now. I finally switched drs. On my first visit he said my spleen was enlarged about 6 inches. I am scheduled for a liver spleen scan and a ct of my abdomen. Just wondering what this could end up being. Thanks in advance for all serious replies.

My stepdad and I fight all the time and have a horrible relationship with each other. They began backing him into a corner and grabbed his drink at threw on the ground and rode off. my friend was almost in tears as he isnt use to that kind of stuff happening but even though it wasnt me in that situation he was looking to me for help and i just kept thinking i do not want to get involved maybe it was fear of getting brutally beaten or the fact i had an exam that day I do not know but that is irrelevant as my question is What do i do in that situation, every single person ive been to for advice just tells me to stay out of it and keep my head low but how can i do that when i see i friend in real danger and im just such a snob that i wont do anything. ive been in fights before but for some reason i was just powerless to do anyhting. what should i do in future if an event like this occurs again???? How old are you? I wouldn't kill yourself over this. I get really angry too when my parents drink. I hate the sight of drunk people. I get really annoyed and frightened by it too. Trust me, this isn't a reason to kill yourself. I know right now thinks suck badly, but eventually you can move out. If things get too bad you can call child service and ask to be removed from the home and live with a different relative or something. There are better ways to deal with this than to kill yourself. My first experience with these lists was not pretty. I talked to the teacher, and eventually the principle, and said "Look, my kid will come to school with pencil and paper. Pet stain removal? Kitty Litter stain in carpet?

I'm moving out of an apartment and I have some stains on my carpet that I really don't feel like paying an arm & a leg for when I leave. If you really love college then maybe you should go to the deaf college with your friends? Debt isn't that bad, it's kind of like a cold swimming pool. At first it's terrifying, but once you get in it you tend to get used to it. Then again, I don't have the same problems you have so if I was in your shoes I might be hesitant to go into debt just like you are. Have you considered a cheap, fast, training program with minimal investment of time and resources? I just got my EKG certificate so I can work as an EKG technician. Only one semester, one hour a week. You might consider a brief program like that and with a credential there would be less pressure at an interview because you have a marketable skill. Also, I would suggest you try using your disadvantages to your advantage. Meaning, there are government programs you can apply for being challenged and they can help you find a training program and job that is right for you. If they like your test scores and application, they may even provide training costs. 'The Department of Rehabilitation' is a good source. Another benefit to having a disability, is nature's way of making up for short comings with other strengths. While your speaking and communication lack, your writing is excellent. Not sure if him still wanting formula is really an issue, but if you really want him to stop the best way is "cold turkey". He's only a year old - you can't reason with him, he wants something and cries when he doesn't get it. That's what babies do - it's how they communicate. If he doesn't like watered down formula, just stop. He's gonna scream an cry and make you feel horrible for a while, but he (and you) will get through it.

hi, 2 weeks or so ago I bought a 3 month old bunny I named Twix. I noticed he would be sneezing now and then but never thought much of it as he seemed fine and I read that at such a young age it could be nerves. However over the past week it got worse and the last couple of day he has got a crusty nose snottiness and can hardly breathe. He is exausted and doesn't know what to do with himself. He has had a bit of water but he won't eat. His head keeps dropping and hes resting it on everything - he's weak. I have wiped over his nose and removed some crust but I cant get at the snot. One swollen tonsil but causing no pain?

i've had a swollen tonsil for around 5 months now, the other one has been fine and have had nothing wrong with it. However the swollen one isn't sore at all and has only enlarged further once and caused pain. any ideas what this could be? i've been thinking about visiting my GP for a while but don't want to waste their time if it's nothing to worry about. My grandmothers cat has a tumor?

Hello everyone. My grandmas has a older cat with a rather large tumor under her nipple and it is making it enlarged. We are getting ready to book a vet visit for this. But I was trimming up her nails earlier (she is very mean, and always has been) and I believe she got scared and it seemed like her nipple started leaking... No blood but a clear liquid. I know this sounds disgusting but I was wondering what that was and what could have caused it. I looked it up online and couldn't find any answers, does anyone know what could be causing this?

I think i have heart disease?

I am a 16 years old girl and i do have an enlarged heart but i think i might have heart disease.. When i lay down or just go for a daily jog or what ever i get a sharp pain but sometimes a really bad pain under my right breastbone. It hurts and then i feel really nauseous and lightheaded. I have no idea why, maybe its anxiety. But also when i went to the doctor they told me that i had a heart murmur but she said it maybe caused by the fact that i have asthma and i needed a new inhaler. Question about taking st. john's wort before wisdom teeth removal?

I started taking st. john's wort about a month ago.. I would take 3 a day because that's what the bottle says. I am getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow morning and am being put to sleep for it because I'm getting all 4 removed and one is impacted. Now I'm really worried though because I was reading online that you should not take these supplements before being given any type of anesthesia because it interacts with it..? I stopped taking them after reading that but I'm still afraid to get them taken out now.. Does anyone know anything about this? Will I be okay?

I jut can't take it anymore!!!?

My dad is a drunk. He goes out partying every single night, and we don't even know where. And when he's home all he does is yell and verbally abuse (sometimes physically/sexually) us. I'm sick of this, and my mom does nothing to protect us, even if she is scared i'm her daughter and she should protect me from him. I can't even tell when he's drunk anymore. What setting on fujifilm fs100 to shoot clear photographs?

I have been taking photographs for some time now. My main area is landscape photography, my photographs are quite clear in landscapes but when I try to take pictures of my boyfriend in his go-kart on a track racing I cannot get any that have enough detail to print in an enlarged size. I desperately need help in making my images clearer. The photos look good from a bit away but when I zoom in or crop close you realise that the quality isnt that good. Please help!

I received a vile message through Facebook from someone who I do not know, it was abusive and insulting. She blocked me which prevents me from blocking her or from reporting her. She can unblock me and send these messages and block me again without me being able to stop her. I am powerless to act throigh Facebook. My husband sent her a message to ask her to stop as I do not know her and she sent him another message insulting me. He reported her but Facebook said as she has done nothing against him I have to report her, but there is not anyway for me to do this. Can I go to the police and make a complaint against her?

I breast feed my baby, but is it ok to add formula powder to her food?

My baby has been on just breast milk for 7 months but she is in the 10th percentile for her height and weight and I'm worried shes not getting the proper nutrients. Also her iron was low when we were at the doctors. So I tried giving her a bottle of formula yesterday and she spit it out. I want to know if its ok to add formula powder to her food?
